Terms of service

Your study material and learning

Swotty helps you study material you upload and have permission to use. You retain your rights in your papers, memos, notes and answers. You grant only the permission needed for the features you choose, including private sync, paid restore and requested AI processing. We do not distribute your documents. Exam-board and publisher names identify your chosen material; they do not imply endorsement.

You self-mark against the shown marking guide. AI suggestions, OCR, drills and memos may contain errors. Check original pages, syllabus and prescribed references. Swotty is not an examiner and does not guarantee grades or certify results. A manual link takes precedence over an AI suggestion; online material requires your choice.

Accounts and younger learners

Swotty markets to learners aged 16 and older. This is a marketing target, not a universal account minimum. No one under 13 may open an account. Learners aged 13 to the local adult age are served under minor rules. Local, offline study is available from age 13 without an account, with nothing sent to our service. Account sync and paid AI below the local consent age require the applicable parent-approved store signal or guardian consent route. Eligibility and consent depend on the selected country; countries without an enabled account route retain offline study. Age is self-declared with store age signals where available, using the conservative age classification.

Acceptable use

Keep account codes private. Do not upload unlawful material, violate another person's rights, bypass access controls, attack the service or misuse purchase entitlements. Counsel must settle suspension, notice, appeal and dispute procedures.

Paid features and leaving

Phones use Apple or Google store billing. See Subscription and BOOST terms for draft plan information. The store shows the local price before purchase. Manual links, review, self-marking, mastery and the free OCR ladder remain available with AI off; paid allowances are not unlimited.

You can export account data and delete the cloud account in Account or request deletion here without the app. Local files remain on your device. Account deletion does not cancel a subscription: cancel in the relevant store first if you wish to stop renewal.

Privacy and legal review

The Privacy policy describes optional processing, recipients and retention. Requested AI providers receive study knowledge rather than account-profile details; text can still contain personal information. Consumer rights remain subject to applicable local law. Counsel must settle liability, refunds, governing law, complaints, feature-change notice and the precise upload licence before these terms become effective.
